She released her debut single Here in the year 2015. She was only aged 19. It became a smash hit and received praise from both listeners and critics alike. The single peaked at the number 19 spot on both the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the smash one of the best Songs in 2015. That same year, she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of the five tracks that were the first to reach the Billboard charts. The track is special due to the interview with Rap-Up that she gave many of the listeners could understand her story of growing to accept themselves as a person as well as doubting herself. Cara is known for including messages on mental health, kindness and self-love into her songs. The music she sings is reflective of her personal battles to deal with depression and insomnia. In an Reuters interview she describes the album as being half turbulent as well as half-perfected. She claims that she gained strength by therapy and is adamant about encouraging anyone else to seek out help whenever needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11, 1996. She was given a guitar by her parents before she became a teenager and it sparked her passion for the music. At the age of 13 she started to cover her favourite songs via YouTube a major media platform to show the world that she was gifted and determination to develop into the next singer. Indeed one of the covers Sweater Weather eventually got noticed by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and create her own songs.
